Here are a couple of things I took away from NECC:
1. using a backchannel chat during staff development meetings (teachers are the worst audience, usually grading papers, texting, ect.) This would help keep them engaged; however, there would definatley need to be a moderator and etiquette "rules" set-up in advance...but I like this idea
2. Tammy Worcester had lots of great web 2.0 tools that I had not seen/used before...this is always refreshing
3. The Virginia teachers had many wonderful people who were willing to share their ideas and procedures to give me ideas on how to get our school up to speed with technology and curriculum
4. The idea of using online professional development...don't have any thoughts about where to start...but I like the idea
Hi Stacey,
I did a quick search on 'professional development' and found a number of potentially helpful resources, including the Professional Development Resources group. It's a place to start. It's also a good topic for a webinar, so that would be something to approach the group about. I'm sure Gailene would be receptive.

This is a general brain dump, well-suited for those who attended and those who did not. Not about logistics at all, but just a chance to talk about the learning. What were the significant "aha" moments for you? What speakers spoke to you?
There will also be a live Elluminate event on this topic: http://www.learncentral.org/event/13014/What+We+Learned+at+NECC+2009
