Detail Description: On February 12th, the torch will light over Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Join the Learning Games Network's Alex Chisholm and special guest Norman Cohen, producer at NBC Learn, to bring the science of the Winter Olympics home to your classroom.
NBC Learn has collaborated with the National Science Foundation to create this series of video resources and lesson plans demonstrating the links between the laws of physics and the principles of chemistry, and downhill skiing, bobsledding, and other sports.
Join us to learn more about how NBC Learn can inspire students by approaching the science of sports from a new perspective. Part of the Learning Games series on LearnCentral.

Name: Alex Chisholm

Bio: Alex Chisholm, Executive Director of the Learning Games Network is a media research and development consultant who creates transmedia entertainment and educational properties. in recent years, he has developed and managed several projects with NBC Universal, including iCue with NBC News, and the online games for NBC Olympics. He serves as the Software and Video Gaming Judge for the National Parenting Publication Awards (NAPPA). Over the past 10 years, Chisholm has collaborated on research, product, and program development with Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Sony Pictures Imageworks, LeapFrog, NBC Universal, Children's Hospital Boston, and the Hewlett and MacArthur Foundations. He holds a B.S. from Cornell University. Chisholm is the Executive Director and a founding member of the Learning Games Network.

Name: Norman Cohen

Bio: Norman Cohen is a producer at NBC Learn, the educational arm of NBC News in New York. Over the past three years, Norman has worked on developing the educational websites iCue.com and Archives on Demand (LINK: www.archives.nbclearn.com), which bring the resources of NBC News into the classroom using archival video as well as new video productions. In addition to writing and producing several of the videos in the new series "Science of the Olympic Winter Games," (LINK: http://www.nbclearn.com/olympics) Norman oversaw the writing of lesson plans and classroom activities related to the videos.
